Short Biography on 'Mahatma Gandhi'

Mahatma Gandhi' was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar. After passing the matriculation examination, he went to England for higher study. On returning home, he started advocating.

Gandhi's public life began in South Africa. During his stay in South Africa, He realised that Indians are treated badly. He helped Indians to come out of suffering. He started the Satyagraha movement. During this, He suffered a lot, was humiliated. In the end, he got succeeded in his goal.

Gandhiji returned to India and participated in the freedom struggle. He went to jail several times. But the love of the whole country behind him, he got full support from Indian citizen. Gandhiji lived a simple life. He believed in the principle of simple living and high thinking. He was considered as a great social reformer. He taught us the lesson of non-violence. His efforts towards to remove untouchability was appreciated. He was shot dead on January 30, 1948.
